Rogue Prince – Chapter 5

“Now then… what should I do from here?”

The morning after my meeting with Alexandra, I wriggled in bed, staring at the ceiling, deep in thought.
The world of this game, “Engage Hazard,” progresses with love comedy parts with the heroines in a chat format, and battle parts, including the main scenario, in a one-way RPG format using card battles.

In other words, if I get involved in the game’s scenario, I’ll inevitably face combat situations.
The enemies vary depending on the heroine, sometimes bandits or assassin groups, and other times nations, armies, legendary Demon Beasts, or heroes, the list goes on and on.

If I were to encounter such guys, the current Harold wouldn’t be able to do anything and would die in an instant.

Therefore, I inevitably need to become stronger, but… the problem is, how do I get stronger?

First of all, in “EnHaza,” each character has skills and attributes, all of which are fixed for each character.
Except for the protagonist, Wilfred, who can set any attribute or skill according to the player’s preference or strategy.

In addition, equipping weapon cards boosts attack power and defense, and allows the use of special skills set on the weapon cards.
Of course, the increase in abilities varies depending on the rarity of the weapon card and whether it has the same attribute as the character, so be careful.

But.

“…In the first place, male characters don’t appear as cards, though.”

What must not be forgotten is that “EnHaza” is a chat-based romance smartphone RPG. There’s no demand for male characters from the start.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt, there might be a chance for a trap character, but unfortunately, this game doesn’t have a trap heroine implemented.

“Well, there are several battles between the protagonist and Harold, and the official website does publish Harold’s abilities for each event, but…”

That’s right. Harold, being less than a stepping stone character, isn’t strong… no, no, this evaluation is a bit misleading.
The ability settings are so messed up that he seems incredibly peaky and difficult to handle.

You see, the creators probably weren’t interested in Harold, so they made the ability settings appropriate. Of course, to make Harold weak.
Cardis and Raphael, along with all the Royalty, are Light Attribute, but I’m the only one who’s Dark Attribute. My magic attack and magic defense are extremely high, but my unique skills are all Light Attribute, which is the complete opposite. And all of them are physical attacks only. Seriously, what am I supposed to do?

Oh? What about my physical abilities?
Both my attack power and defense are the lowest among all the named characters that appear, especially my defense, which is paper-thin.

However, my SP (Skill Points) are the highest among all characters at level one, and even capped at the maximum value of 999.
But, as mentioned earlier, sadly, all my skills are Light Attribute. I can’t use any skills at all, and Harold’s SP bar, who can only do normal attacks, doesn’t decrease even by a millimeter.

Seriously, haven’t the creators played with Harold too much, causing me to be stuck?

I said something arrogant to Alexandra like, “Please wait three years,” but isn’t this already a guaranteed bad end…?

“No, no, no, no! It’ll work out somehow!”

I know everything about “EnHaza.” Even if I’m Harold, I can’t possibly match the protagonist… but still, I should be able to become reasonably strong.
Besides, Harold’s ability settings are messed up, but in terms of magic attack and magic defense, he’s as good as Raphael, and his SP alone is the top among all characters. I think his potential is high enough.

The rest is how I train myself.

“And what to do with weapons, huh? Harold’s exclusive weapon, the ‘Scythe of the Grim Reaper,’ won’t do anything.”

The sad Harold’s weapon, the “Scythe of the Grim Reaper,” is Light Attribute instead of Dark Attribute for some reason. No matter how much I train myself, this is too much.
But in “EnHaza,” there are more weapon cards than main characters and heroines, and the protagonist and heroines could freely choose and use weapons.

Then, I should be able to choose weapons as I like… hopefully.
I can only pray that the “force” that is common in game reincarnations doesn’t work here.

“Well, I need to confirm that as well.”

Anyway, there are three years until the main story begins. I’ll do everything I can until then, and even after the main story starts, Alexandra and I will remain engaged and live our lives regardless of the game. In the first place, I have no interest in the Succession Dispute.

Of course, since I don’t know what will happen once the game’s main story starts, I intend to meet it with full preparation.

“Now that’s decided, I need to get up early and find a weapon.”

If this world is the same as “EnHaza,” there must be SSRs, or even the highest rank UR (Ultra Rare) weapons.
In the game, I could get them with gacha by paying, but since gacha doesn’t exist in reality, I have to find them myself.

“…The worst thing is that UR class weapons are likely to be treated as national treasures or Legendary Weapons, huh.”

With common sense, a God-class amazing weapon would definitely be strictly managed by the state.
If that’s the case, it would be absolutely impossible to obtain. Of course, they wouldn’t rent out national treasures or Legendary Weapons.

So, I need to gather information and confirm the location of all weapons… oh, and I should also grasp the information of the heroines.

A year before the main story starts, I’ll be entering the Royal Academy.
I need to avoid contact as much as possible and spend my time quietly without causing any trouble.

Then.

“Excuse me.”

A Maid knocked on the Door and entered…!?

“As of today, I will be taking care of Prince Harold. My name is Marion Shearer.”

A Maid respectfully bowed and introduced herself.
There’s no way I could mistake her.

Because.

She is none other than one of the main heroines of “Engage Hazard.”
