The preparations to welcome the delegation from the Barthian Holy Kingdom proceeded without a hitch.
Basically, Wilfred and I are just hosting on the day itself, so all the preliminary preparations are being handled mainly by the Foreign Minister and the civil officials.
Wilfred and I are just doing the final checks.
Or rather, if they left that much to us, who are only thirteen years old, it would be a disaster and could develop into a diplomatic problem.
And yet…
“No good! At this rate, the kingdom will be mocked as being rustic! Prepare more sophisticated furnishings!”
““H-haaa…””
Wilfred is enthusiastic, which is fine, but he’s pushing impossible demands with such abstract instructions, so the people who are preparing are bewildered.
For things like this, you have to explain clearly and specifically what needs to be done.
Before that, did he really examine whether it was necessary in the first place? I bet he didn’t…
“Oops, I’ll help too.”
“H-Harold-denka, absolutely not!”
“Ahaha, things go faster with more people.”
I offered to help where they were short-handed.
The civil officials and servants were bewildered, but since it’s already so much work, let me do this much.
Besides, in my previous life, I was on the executive committee for the high school cultural festival, believe it or not.
Although, to be precise, I was just saddled with the troublesome job by a class vote.
And so, as I was helping everyone with the preparations…
“Well, is it progressing?”
…The very person who foisted the role of host on me has arrived.
“The preparations are being done by the civil officials and servants, mainly the Foreign Minister. I’m just watching over them.”
“Hee… so Harold is doing something like a servant. Unlike Wilfred, who is taking the lead and working hard over there.”
Raphael glances at Wilfred, who is still shouting instructions at the servants.
Oh dear. If you yell that much, everyone will shrink back. I don’t know for sure, though.
“At least, amateurs like me should refrain from making unnecessary comments. All that’s left is to avoid making any blunders while the delegation is here.”
To that end, I’ve been thoroughly coordinating with the Foreign Minister and the civil officials about the delegation’s week-long schedule.
However, the Foreign Minister and others were wide-eyed when I asked them to do that. How rude.
“Hmm…”
Um… Raphael, why are you looking at me with such interest? Sorry, I don’t have those kinds of hobbies.
“You know, you should really join hands with me. If it were me, I could make better use of your talents.”
“Ah, haha… you’re overestimating me. Besides, I already declined that offer before, right?”
“Even so. I want you.”
Being told “I want you” with a serious expression by a man doesn’t make me happy at all.
Besides, I already belong to Sandra.
“Harold-denka, could you please confirm this…”
“Ah, I’m coming now. Well then, Raphael-aniue, excuse me.”
“Haa… please think about it seriously, okay?”
A civil official came to call me, and I took the opportunity to leave.
Raphael sighed and gave a wry smile.

And so, after all the preparations were completed, the delegation will finally arrive in the Royal Capital tomorrow.
Wow… I’ve been busy as hell for the past month because of being saddled with extra work. It’s really tough on the Foreign Minister, the civil officials, and the servants, though.
“Lord Hal, it suits you very well.”
“R-really…”
So, I’m currently trying on the ceremonial clothes prepared for tomorrow for the final confirmation, and having Sandra and the others check them.
She’s blushing and praising me to the skies, but my personal impression is that it’s like putting clothes on a donkey.
It’s exactly like the saying, “the clothes are wearing the person.” Anyway, it doesn’t suit me at all.
“Tomorrow night, there will be a party to welcome the delegation. And… I was wondering if you would be my partner for that…”
When I told her that with a bit of embarrassment, Sandra looked down slightly and happily loosened her lips. So cute.
“B-but, I’m very sorry, I’ll be stuck with the delegation until the very last minute, so I won’t be able to pick you up, and… I’m sorry.”
“Fufu, please don’t worry about it. I know you have an important role to play, and besides, I’ll be able to monopolize Lord Hal at the party.”
“A-ahaha…”
Sandra smiled and accepted my apology as I bowed deeply.
I’ll have to listen to any request she has as an apology when the delegation returns. I’m a little scared of what she might ask for.
“Chee… I have to stay behind…”
“Caz-san, please rest assured. This Monica will bring all the party food here.”
“Really! Yay!”
Caz is jumping on the bed, overjoyed.
As long as she can eat delicious food, she’s happy. So easy.
“Even so… fufu, thanks to that trash not understanding anything, it’s resulted in raising Lord Hal’s reputation.”
That’s right… Wilfred was reprimanded by Cardis for interfering with the preparations.
All that guy did was stir up the scene, so it’s only natural.
Well, thanks to that, I ended up gaining the trust of the civil officials and servants even though I didn’t do anything, so you really never know.
I hope this will help me shed the label of “Incompetent Rascal Prince,” but that’s probably impossible.
It seems that I’m not being labeled that way just because of my attitude and behavior, as I realized during this preparation.
“I’m really looking forward to tomorrow.”
When I said that, Sandra raised the corner of her mouth. So scary.
