Rogue Prince – Chapter 71

Cardinal Lorenzo Salvatore is an event boss who appears in Christia’s main scenario.

His true identity is a Vampire with the Dark Attribute, and he excels at skills befitting his race.
Backed by an enormous SP pool, befitting a top-tier event boss, he uses Dark Attribute skills like Shadowtail, Doppelganger, Blind, and the Rusvhen Mist he just displayed.

However, he doesn’t possess any powerful, one-hit-kill skills. He mainly relies on debuff effects and buffs through status changes. While you won’t suddenly become incapacitated, battles tend to drag on, which is a pain in its own right.

“I expected you might try to escape by turning your body into mist. So, I asked Monica to seal off any gaps beforehand.”
“This Monica Ashton, I believe I’ve done a fine job.”

Monica steps forward, striking a triumphant pose and giving a respectful bow.
She’s really good at provoking people.

“Of course, we’ve taken various other measures as well. So… all that’s left for you is despair, but…”

I wink at Christia, who’s watching this unfold with obvious amusement.

“Ufufu, what is it?”
“Well, should we take that man alive? Or… dispose of him here?”
“As you wish, Prince Harold.”

Alright, I’ve got the go-ahead, so I’ll do as I please.
He’s annoying because he only uses status ailment skills anyway, so I want to finish this quickly.

“…I want to ask Prince Harold something.”
“Hm?”
“I asked you to bring the Saint to this warehouse this morning. Yet, how were you able to prepare so thoroughly? Moreover, how do you know about my skills, which no one should know? It’s strange.”
“Do I need to answer that question? Just disappear from here.”

At my signal, Sandra, Monica, and Carla moved simultaneously.
To instantly kill him before he could use any unnecessary skills.

“Tch! Blind!”
“How naive. For an assassin, darkness is their hunting ground.”
“What!?”

The warehouse was plunged into darkness by Lorenzo’s skill, but it was nothing for Monica, the assassin. Judging from the sound, she must have landed an attack.

“Damn it!? I’m at a disadvantage if I can’t see!”

So, Lorenzo immediately canceled the Blind effect. I didn’t expect that Lorenzo himself would become invisible when he activated the skill. What a useless skill.
Ah, but thinking about it, Lorenzo’s accuracy did decrease when he used Blind in EnHaza. So, that’s what it was.

“Then! Doppelganger!”

Lorenzo creates a shadow of himself, trying to overwhelm us with numbers, but.

“Fufu… are you an idiot? There are three of us here, you know?”
“What!?”
“Direct Drive!”
“!? Guwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!?”

While distracted by Sandra’s giggling, Carla hits Lorenzo from behind with a deadly Direct Drive, sending both of them crashing into the wall.

“U…ugh… how could I, of all people, be so unilaterally…!?”
“Of course. From the moment you proposed your plan, everything was in Lord Hal’s palm.”
“Geh…ga, ha…!”

Sandra stomps on him and pierces his neck with Balmung. Lorenzo, who should have been a powerful event boss, is simply trampled and vanishes into ash. Well, that’s quite sad.

“…We didn’t get a chance to do anything.”
“Don’t say that.”

Caspary, Jet-Black Shield, who was positioned to protect Christia, and I just watched without getting a chance to participate.

“Thank you, Prince Harold. Thanks to you, we were able to exterminate the pests infesting the Barthian Holy Kingdom.”
“You’re welcome.”

I waved my hand dismissively at Christia, who bowed respectfully.
Yes… from the moment Lorenzo approached me with this plan, I’ve been working hard to completely ruin the Scenario.

I asked Monica to eliminate Lorenzo’s henchmen and arranged things so we could use that to our advantage, and I secretly coordinated with Christia and Carla without Lorenzo noticing… yeah, I did my best.

By the way, Christia contacted me, not the other way around.
She formally apologized soon after that match. However, she made sure no one else knew about it.

Well, I’ll talk about that later. Right now, there are other things to do.

“Well, now that everything is over, we’ll leave this place.”
“Ufufu. Yes, please leave the rest to me.”

Leaving Christia alone, chuckling to herself, we left the warehouse through a hidden passage.

Why? Because I’m going to make Wilfred and the others clean up this mess.
