The Disenchanted Summoner – Chapter 28

Chapter 28: The King of Admos’s Calculations

The Admos Kingdom, bordered by the Weimar Kingdom, the Lindor Kingdom, and the Demon Tribe Nation, was currently engulfed in chaos.

“Weimar has declared war!? What in the world is going on!?”

The King of Admos was taken aback by the report from his bureaucrat, shouting at the official who had brought the news.

“W-well, even if you say that… just moments ago, a messenger from Weimar suddenly said so,” the bureaucrat stammered.

“What do you mean!? Our relationship with Weimar has not been hostile, has it!?”

“Th-that’s… well…”

The bureaucrat hesitated for a moment before relaying the words of the Weimar messenger to the king.

“Admos has brutally slaughtered Weimar soldiers and has put Weimar’s very existence at risk. We cannot forgive this. Weimar hereby declares war on Admos, asserting its legitimacy…”

“I-I don’t understand…”

The King of Admos was genuinely confused, burying his head in his hands.

It was understandable that they would be furious about Admos soldiers killing Weimar soldiers.

But then, what was this talk about putting Weimar’s existence at risk? What on earth was that about?

And declaring war to assert legitimacy?

The context didn’t connect.

It felt like a forced justification.

“What is Weimar thinking…? By the way, is it true that our soldiers killed Weimar soldiers?”

“It seems that way,” the bureaucrat replied.

“…How did that happen…?”

As the King of Admos continued to ponder, the bureaucrat cautiously suggested, “Actually… the head of a soldier who killed Weimar soldiers has been sent to us…”

“What!? Did they execute him in Weimar!?”

“Y-yes. I confirmed it myself. It is undoubtedly one of our soldiers.”

The King of Admos was left questioning the bureaucrat’s report.

“Was Weimar always such a warlike nation? They would be angry about their soldiers being killed, but until now, they would have only demanded reparations in exchange for the bodies, right?”

“…I don’t know. Regardless, it is a fact that our soldier returned with just his head.”

“Ugh… So? What happened that led to our soldier killing Weimar soldiers?”

“He didn’t provide many details, but… the executed soldier was involved in the Plan.”

The Plan was a strategy to negotiate by taking a close person of Kenta Maya hostage.

Realizing the failure of the operation from the bureaucrat’s report, the King of Admos grimaced, but soon another question arose.

“Why would our soldiers kill Weimar soldiers while executing the Plan? Was Weimar guarding that guy?”

Hearing the King’s words, the bureaucrat suddenly recalled something.

“Now that you mention it… Weimar was the only one to withdraw the wanted notice for him…”

At that moment, both the King of Admos and the bureaucrat’s faces lit up with realization.

“Weimar… has they fallen under his command!?”

The King of Admos exclaimed loudly.

The withdrawn wanted notice.

The clash with Weimar soldiers during the operation to capture Kenta.

This meant that Weimar had submitted to Kenta’s command and had engaged in combat with soldiers assigned to protect him.

All the mysteries were solved! The King of Admos was convinced.

“Then this declaration of war should be seen as an order from Kenta Maya.”

“That is likely correct.”

“Tch! Weimar, how pathetic to so easily submit to a single individual! Hey!! Call all the ministers at once! Prepare for war!!”

“Y-yes, Your Majesty!!”

The bureaucrat responded and hurriedly exited the room.

Watching him leave, the King of Admos sank deeply into his chair.

“Weimar. No matter how strong they are, to wag their tails at a mere individual… I never thought they would fall so low.”

With that, the King of Admos smirked.

“Well, it’s fine. Such a fallen nation will be invaded and annexed by my Admos. That way, our national power will double. We can stand toe-to-toe with the Demon Tribe Nation. And then…”

The King of Admos envisioned the glorious future that this war would bring, chuckling to himself in the royal office.
