The main story has concluded, so from here on will be the epilogue.
The adventurer party, “Rainbow Sword”—.
One of the foremost Rank 5 parties in the Kingdom of Claydale, a major power on the Searth Continent, they boasted a tradition spanning over a hundred years and the highest quest completion rate in the kingdom.
The best and the strongest—. However, the reputation cultivated over those long years was now on the verge of becoming a new “legend” thanks to a certain girl.
“Gyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!”
A Wyvern soaring through the vast sky bared its fangs and let out a roar as if to intimidate.
The Rainbow Sword had received a request to investigate and exterminate a swarm of Wyverns that had appeared in a Monster habitat north of the kingdom and were approaching its borders.
However, the information was delayed, and the swarm of Wyverns had already moved on in search of feeding grounds. The Rainbow Sword hurriedly caught up to the swarm, which was heading towards the nearest town, and engaged them in battle just short of the town.
“Don’t let a single one reach the town!”
At the voice of their leader, Dolton, the party members sprang into action. There were six Wyverns, and the town was only a short distance away.
“—O Spirits of Wind—”
Mira, the spirit magician, simultaneously cast “Wind’s Protection” and generated a “Tornado” to engulf multiple Wyverns.
“Gyaaaaaaaah!”
The engulfed Wyverns stalled and began to fall.
Even if not as tough as an Earth Dragon’s, the Wyverns’ sturdy scales couldn’t be pierced by blades of wind. However, if their vision was obscured, they would lose their sense of direction, and if their speed dropped, their wings weren’t strong enough to support their own weight.
Even so, Mira, having cast two advanced spells, would be unable to use magic for a while. One that had begun to fall, filled with rage, charged forward.
“As if I’d let you!”
Dolton, clad in full Mithril armor, stood before that Wyvern.
It was a massive creature, five meters in length. Even if its skeleton was lightened for flight, the impact would be like taking a cannonball head-on. But—
“Uooooooooooooooh!”
Dolton, a Rank 5 heavy warrior, withstood it.
“Uoryaaaaaah!!”
From its side, Jesha, another Mountain Dwarf, slammed his Magic Steel two-handed axe into the Wyvern’s neck, severing its long, snake-like neck.
“Gyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!”
The Wyverns now fully recognized them as enemies. The two Wyverns that had fallen used their legs to cushion their impact just before hitting the ground and charged forward with the speed of a running bird.
In response, the giant swordsman—Feld—leapt forward and swung the black greatsword on his back.
“Taaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!”
The greatsword, crafted from a Dark Dragon’s horn, combined with Feld’s skill, sliced through the lesser dragon’s scales as if they were wood chips.
“Gigaaaaaaa!”
Simultaneously, another Wyvern lunged with its fangs at Feld. But in that instant, Dolton, who had rushed over, swung his Mithril halberd, which slipped past Feld’s side and crushed the Wyvern’s head from its mouth to its brain.
The Wyverns still in the air scattered venom from the stingers on their tails. But this was blocked by the Wind’s Protection.
Unlike Phantasmal Beasts like Earth Dragons or Elemental Dragons, lesser dragons cannot use breath attacks. Their ground attacks sealed, the Wyverns showed a slight sign of fear at the offensive power of the humans on the ground. In that instant, a small figure, her black skirt fluttering, soared above a Wyvern’s head.
Pinkish-gold hair shimmering in the sunlight. A black leather dress fluttering like a monstrous bird. And above all, at the cold, murderous gaze in that girl’s—Aria’s—eyes, the Wyvern bared its fangs as if frightened.
“Hah!”
Neither flinching nor frightened, the girl let out a light breath as her Black Dagger pierced both of the Wyvern’s eyes.
The Wyvern, having lost its sight, stalled and began to fall. But from behind it, another Wyvern, filled with rage, whirled around and slammed its tail stinger at the girl.
Hyuun!
In that instant, an arrow loosed by Mira, who had recovered, grazed the Wyvern’s face. As if she had been waiting for that, trusting it would happen, Aria leaped out. Towards the Wyvern, which had momentarily stopped moving, she raised the knife and dagger made from “Dark Dragon Fang.”
“—【Dancing Reaper】—”
The fangs of an Elemental Dragon made short work of a lesser dragon’s scales. The Wyvern, its wings and face slashed, shrieked and fell.
Seeing this, the last Wyvern lost its will to fight and fled. However, the town lay in that direction.
Soldiers on the watchtowers of the outer wall, who had noticed them, loosed arrows, but it was difficult to hit an object flying at high speed in the sky, and even if they did, arrows from low-level archers likely wouldn’t pierce a Wyvern’s scales.
The soldiers’ faces twitched at the sight of the massive Wyvern heading straight for them. But there… before the outer wall surrounding the town, stood the figure of a single “girl.”
“—【Chase Lightning】—”
A flash of light. Multiple bolts of lightning unleashed by the girl struck the Wyvern’s wings, causing it to lose its balance.
However, even without the thrust from its wings, the Wyvern, carried by inertia, didn’t stop. It seemed inevitable that the town would suffer damage—the moment that thought crossed their minds, the White Girl gently stepped forward.
Wearing the hood of her pure white robe pulled low over her eyes, her wavy, pure white hair swaying, the girl thrust out both hands as if to block the Wyvern.
“—【Ice Whip】—”
Who knew how much magical power was imbued within it? Enormous thorns of ice, generated from the White Girl as their center, entangled the Wyvern, instantly transforming it into an ice sculpture, and then shattered the frozen Wyvern.
Cheers erupted from the town’s soldiers.
In a fantastical world where ice scattered like dust, the White Girl walked, her white hair swaying as if she were smiling.
The Rank 5 adventurer party, “Rainbow Sword.”
Its reputation was about to change from tradition to “legend” thanks to two girls.
One was the Dragon Slayer, the Pink-Haired Girl, “Ash Covered Princess,” “Iron Rose Princess”—.
And then—
The newly joined Rank 5 Magician… No one knew her real name. But from her pure white attire and hair, people called her “Snow White.”
