Adventurer Life of Exiled Marquis – Chapter 207

“If the single people of the world heard that, they’d probably come at you with knives.”

Why’s that?
Not understanding what she meant, I tilted my head again.

“I’d take them all down.”

From deeper inside the house, I heard Erica’s voice calling for me. It seemed she couldn’t find the Cookies we bought the other day.

“See? Delicious Cookies are waiting.”

Saying that, I let go of her hand.

“I suddenly feel like eating Salty Pastries.”

“You’re such a selfish one.”

Shara said something rude, like she didn’t want to hear that from Shin-san of all people.
Strange, my quiet life was supposed to have returned, but it doesn’t feel that way.

“I want to live quietly, surrounded by Flowers.”

When I muttered that unintentionally, Shara looked at me with exasperation.
What? When I questioned her with my gaze, she even let out a sigh.

“See, Shin-san, you’re the selfish one. How greedy can you be? Right now, a Flower whose name you know—Erica—is waiting for you.”

Saying that, Shara pushed my back.

“I see, well said.”

“Give up on the quietness. It’s all your fault, Shin-san.”

Shara said as she overtook me.
What Iniquity. Is it my fault things are noisy?
From deeper inside, Erica’s voice called for me again; it seemed she still couldn’t find the Cookies.
Shara turned back with the same smug look she had earlier.

“Besides, you don’t dislike it, do you? The noise.”

I didn’t answer her, instead calling back to Erica that I was coming now.
Shara showed off her smuggest look of the day and pattered off towards Erica. Who was it that was just clamoring to go home a moment ago?
But well, it’s the truth.

Fighting to the death with guys whose names I don’t know, receiving a Nameless Flower.
Well, living like this, I guess I’m far removed from quietness.
Saying I like quietness after all this… yeah, people would definitely be exasperated and laugh at how greedy I am.

Even though I claim to have become honest, I’m still a liar as always.
What are these Cookies! Aren’t they just lumps of sugar!
Hearing Shara’s scream, I walked on, thinking that this definitely wasn’t just my fault.

I see, next time I should definitely give her a Flower whose name I know. Knowing the Flower’s name really increases the affection.
Giving the Nameless Flower one last stroke, I headed towards my beloved Flower.

Thank you always for the comments, likes, follows, and ratings.

This concludes Chapter 3.
Updates will stop for a while.
And this time, it seems doing the usual short story will be impossible.
I know some might think, “But you managed to write one the past two times, didn’t you?”
But this time, it really seems impossible.
I will do my best to resume updates as soon as possible.
