Bachelor’s Isekai Reincarnation – Chapter 2

Chapter 2

I remember the agony of being swept away by a torrent of water.

When I opened my eyes, I realized I was in a completely white space.

“Is this a hospital?”

“No, this is a space known as the Chamber of Rebirth. You passed away after being swept away by water.”

“Is that so? And just when I’d finally gotten my hands on that long-awaited item.”

“You truly do love games, don’t you?”

“Yeah, you could say Nordic War Online is my everything. By the way, who are you?”

“I am the goddess Aria, and I will be in charge of your reincarnation. You have a choice.”

“A choice?”

“One path is to have all your memories erased and walk a completely new life. This is the standard reincarnation.”

“And the other one?”

“The other is to be reincarnated into a world similar to your game, retaining the in-game Stats and items you acquired.”

“A world similar to the game, huh…”

“That’s right. You will be reincarnated as a baby, learn the language, and in that world where you once fought through a screen, you will have to actually face monsters and fight with weapons and magic.”

“Still, if I have my Stats and items, wouldn’t I be invincible?”

“Even if they are monsters, taking the life of a living being is no simple matter. Please think carefully before you give your answer.”

“My mind is made up. I’ll go with the world similar to the game, please.”

“Very well. You won’t regret this, will you?”

“No. I’m counting on you.”

“Then, I shall reincarnate you. I pray that you will fulfill your mission.”

As Aria raised her staff, my consciousness began to fade.

The next time I woke up, I had really become a baby.

From my mouth, I could only manage to utter “gyaa, gyaa.”

A young woman, likely my mother, was saying something, but I couldn’t understand it.

I was held, and something soft was pressed against my mouth.

It wasn’t a conscious act, but following my instincts, I latched onto what was pressed against me and began to suckle and swallow.

I could think, “Am I drinking breast milk right now?”, but after drinking a certain amount, I started to feel drowsy.

Succumbing to sleepiness, I abandoned thought and indulged in idle slumber.

A baby’s job is to eat well and sleep well.

The goddess told me I’d need to learn the language, but there’s no need to rush.

I’m still just a newborn baby, after all.

If I listen to my family’s conversations, I should be able to learn the language naturally.

My mother is usually nearby, and when she leaves for some errand, a woman in a maid’s uniform is always by my side, taking care of me.

Having servants must mean I was born into a family of rather high standing, huh?
