Chapter 55
Claude was visiting the Royal Capital, bringing with him the finished Lizardman leather armor, weapons, and Recovery Potions.
The purpose of this visit was to have the official in charge check the quality and obtain approval.
He presented his baronial certificate to the Royal Palace gatekeeper and was guided to the official in charge.
“Excuse me. I have brought Baron Claude.”
“Thank you for your trouble. You may leave.”
The official in charge was well-muscled and gave off an air suggesting he wasn’t just a civil official.
“Baron Claude, welcome. I have heard about you from His Majesty. I am Hughes, the one in charge of managing military supplies.”
“I am Claude von Prominence. It’s a pleasure to be working with you today.”
“Not much time has passed since your appointment, but what brings you here today?”
“The prototypes are complete, so I’ve come to request a quality check for the armor and weapons, and to deliver the Recovery Potions.”
“Understood. This way, please.”
In the place he was guided to, he took out the armor and weapons from his Item Box and handed them over.
“Is this made from Lizardman hide? This one here is from a superior species, isn’t it?”
“The ones made from regular Lizardman hide are for the common soldiers. I was thinking the ones from the superior species could be for high-ranking officers, if possible.”
“The weapons are also of high quality. With this, there should be no problem with the quality. So, how much can you prepare?”
“Let me see. For this time, it’s about this much. If it’s not enough, I’m considering an additional supply.”
He handed over the documents he had prepared.
Hughes, who looked through them, was astonished.
“If you can deliver this much, it will be possible to equip a considerable number of units. Wonderful!”
“This time, I came directly for the quality confirmation, but from next time onwards, I believe it will be through a merchant company.”
“That’s fine. In that case, please let me check the Recovery Potions.”
“Where should I take them out?”
“Then, over here, please.”
In the designated spot, he began taking out the Recovery Potions.
“That’s all of them.”
“Thank you for such a large quantity. I will prepare the delivery certificate and payment, so please wait a moment.”
To be honest, Hughes hadn’t expected much from Claude.
This was because many of the personnel assigned to him underestimated the importance of military supplies and did a shoddy job.
However, the equipment Claude had delivered this time was something that would significantly enhance the capabilities of existing equipment.
Being a military, there was a need to standardize specifications, and this also met that condition.
He felt relieved, thinking that with this, the complaints from many soldiers regarding quality issues could likely be suppressed.
After paying Claude and giving him the delivery certificate, Hughes cheerfully finished writing a report addressed to the Prime Minister.
