Bachelor’s Isekai Reincarnation – Chapter 57

Chapter 57

Having rested sufficiently and recovered their magic power, the two of them were advancing towards their destination.

Perhaps because it was an area untouched by people, a massive number of Worker Ants were swarming, making even advancing a struggle.

“Their numbers are greater than I expected. I’m glad I had you come with me, Netzal-san.”

“You say that, but you could’ve managed against this many on your own, couldn’t you?”

“Even if I could manage, if I can take it easy, I’d want to, wouldn’t I?”

“Hoho. Honest, aren’t we? Well, I’ve been cooped up in my room lately, so this is good exercise.”

While exchanging light banter, they didn’t stop their attacks.

Due to their overwhelming numbers, Netzal-san ran out of magic power midway and drank a Recovery Potion, but they managed to safely reach the next Safe Zone.

“Netzal-san, please take a rest. I’m going to go back and annihilate the Worker Ants.”

“Full of energy, aren’t you? I shall humbly accept your offer and rest.”

Since he had come all this way, Claude intended to collect everything he could.

In his gaming days, this was a well-known method for farming gold, and that hadn’t changed in this world either.

Fortunately, thanks to Netzal-san, he had plenty of magic power to spare.

Therefore, he entered the rooms, and wherever the Worker Ants gathered, he wiped them out in groups using the advanced composite ice- and wind-type magic, Blizzard Storm.

He didn’t use Inferno to prevent the dropped items from melting and becoming useless.

He continued to go from room to room, mass-farming them until his magic power was exhausted, then returned to the Safe Zone.

Netzal-san was asleep, so trying not to wake him, Claude prepared a meal. After finishing it, Claude also went to sleep.

When Claude woke up, Netzal-san was already awake and in the middle of preparing a meal.

“Oh, you’re awake? Claude, you’ll eat too, won’t you?”

What Netzal-san had prepared was a slowly simmered soup with vegetables and meat.

“I’m sorry for leaving it all to you.”

“The real challenge starts from here, you know. We need to get proper nutrition.”

After finishing their meal, they lightly stretched, thoroughly warmed themselves up, and then stepped onto the target floor.

They had expected it, but they were greeted by a horde of Worker Ants, swarming even more densely than on the previous floor.

“Quite the welcome party, aren’t they? I bear you no ill will, but for the sake of my research, I’ll be taking you down.”

Netzal-san’s magic exploded, and Claude charged into the breach where the Worker Ants’ formation broke, cutting them down one after another with his sword.

Netzal-san was more worked up than usual, but this was typical for him; he always got fired up when it came to collecting valuable materials.

To Claude as well, the swarm of Worker Ants looked like a mountain of treasure, so he couldn’t really talk.

The two of them unhesitatingly stepped into the rooms as well, continuing their rampage.
