Bachelor’s Isekai Reincarnation – Chapter 64

Chapter 64

Fahrenheit-san listened to the master craftsman’s detailed explanation, his expression troubled.

It would be impossible to gather all of this by purchasing it.

Which means Claude must have hunted for all of it himself.

“Is something amiss? You look so troubled.”

“No, there’s no problem on your end. Please continue with your work.”

After leaving the smithy, Fahrenheit returned to the mansion, lost in thought.

He knew Claude was strong.

He also understood that Claude was trying to fulfill his assigned duties.

But as an older brother, he couldn’t help but feel something about his younger brother overworking himself.

Upon returning to the mansion, Fahrenheit asked a servant for his Father’s whereabouts and went to the study.

“Father. Are you working again?”

“I thought I’d summarize the results of our discussion before I forget. So, did you find out anything?”

“This is the list of items Claude commissioned from the smithy.”

Finel read through the list.

“Lizardman Leather Armor and iron weapons. A commission for Mithril and Orichalcum Weapons, too. These are all difficult items to gather, and in such quantities… this is incredible.”

“Father. We can’t just be impressed. No matter how you look at it, he’s overworking himself.”

“I wonder who he takes after…”

“It seems to me he clearly takes after you, Father.”

“Well, we are father and son. Ahahaha.”

“Is this really a time to laugh? I had made all sorts of plans to help with transporting the equipment, and now it’s all for naught.”

“My apologies, my apologies. But this, though it’s an outcome we’re only seeing now, isn’t necessarily a bad thing, is it?”

“With this quality and quantity, the royal palace will surely look upon us favorably.”

“If he makes such a significant contribution in such a short time, a promotion in rank might even be in sight.”

“However, people will likely think that Prominence House poured money into this without regard for public appearance.”

“Let those who want to think that, think that. If they calmly consider it and investigate the logistics, anyone would realize we haven’t done such a thing.”

“That may be true, but…”

“Are you that frustrated that Claude is working so hard yet won’t be praised straightforwardly for it?”

“I am frustrated!”

“Claude is strong and wise, but he can’t live all by himself. There will be times when he’s troubled or exposed to malice. At times like those, you should be there for him. We’re family, after all.”

“Yes, Father. I lost my composure.”

“I’ll handle the work by myself for a while, so you should spend some time with Claude.”

“Are you sure, Father? You’re busy as well.”

“I’ve been handling it alone up until now, anyway. Besides, once the new town development gets fully underway, I’ll have you work whether you like it or not.”

“If that’s the case… Father, thank you very much.”

“Mm. I’m leaving Claude in your care.”
