Banished Slime – Chapter 37

“Alright, analysis complete.”

I lift the spear Jaskal was using and examine it.
It’s not the thorn-type I usually transform into, but a spear with a bladed head, designed for thrusting and slashing.

The heavy weight tells me just how powerful the former wielder was, to swing this around so easily.
The amber-colored tip, reflecting the sunlight, looks the sharpest I’ve ever seen.
And the ability this spear possesses is…

“It’s an Earth Affinity attack.”

When attacking earth or anything related to it, the damage dealt is increased.
This spear is made from the claw of a certain Dire Beast, and it seems to be a fragment of the power that demon beast originally possessed.

“But when would I ever attack earth? …No, it seems like it’s not just that.”

After scrutinizing the information I read with Replicant Form, I understood the details of its ability.
It seems this spear is effective against anything that belongs to the earth, even demon beasts.

“The range of ‘belonging to the earth’ is pretty broad.”

I take out an iron club from Weapon Storage and toss it up.
As it falls, I slash at it with the spear. The club snaps in half around the middle.

“W-whoa, that’s insane…”

I’m astonished by its sheer power.
Even with my Power, I couldn’t do something like that. It’s the result of the Earth Affinity attack.
Iron is also considered to belong to the earth since it’s buried underground.

“The target range is wide, and the effect is high, this is an incredible weapon. And the fact that they brought this to hunt me means that maybe…”

This time, I gently touch the tip of the spear to my whip.
The impact was far greater than I expected from a gentle touch.

“Is it because jewels are found underground…? This is a truly terrifying weapon.”

If they had attacked with this, they might have been able to deal damage to me.
That man, who I believe was Jaskal, seemed thoughtless, but as expected of a high-ranking adventurer, he had various countermeasures prepared.

But a weapon that’s scary when used by an enemy is a reliable partner when wielded by me.

“First, I need to check the range of the Earth Affinity with a replica.”

With a satisfied look, I store the spear and finish dissolving the last piece of the Trent.

~Unidentified Information Log~

Fue Toukouya (Jewel Armory Slime) has acquired the Skill: Dissolving Liquid. Dissolving Liquid has been integrated.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Phew, finally finished eating.”
I’ve been eating it since yesterday, but it’s finally over.
Even with a lot of Mana, wood is still wood. It wasn’t very tasty, so I feel relieved.
By the way, I’ve stored some of the branches in Weapon Storage. Since they’re considered clubs, I can store branches too.
I’ll eat them on a day when I can’t find any other food.
“Alright, this is perfect, time to move!”
I Leap down the slope in one go and head into the forest. It’s the southern direction the girl told me about.
Now that Jaskal and the others have been defeated, other adventurers probably know my location, so relocating my dwelling is urgent.
“Replicant Form – Imitation.”
Since I’m bored, I transform my body while walking.
I’m imitating an arrow. I chose the best quality one I have.
In the center of a cube that looks like a piece of the summer sky, a dull-colored arrow floats.
“Weapon Storage.”
With a slight prickling pain, the arrow disappears.
Weapon Storage can store weapons, and the imitations created by Replicant Form are also treated as weapons.
Therefore, if I want to, I can store imitation weapons.
“Alright, alright, my Life is still plentiful. I’ll make about ten more while I can.”
I proceed with the imitation work while paying attention to my Life.
When I detach a weapon, my Life decreases by the volume of the weapon, but since I have Storage, it’s not a problem if it’s just a little.
The moment my body is torn apart, my body is regenerated by the excess Life.
To not waste the recovery amount of Self-Regeneration, I need to do this kind of work regularly.
“Still, I’m glad that the capacity of Weapon Storage isn’t specified by the number of items.”
The capacity of this Skill is determined by volume, meaning the total volume of the contents.
It’s not like in old games where ‘you can only hold up to 99 of the same item.’
“Phew-whee-whirrr!”
“Oh, a bird demon beast.”
As I’m walking, a bird demon beast flies over me.
In terms of size, it’s probably a Greater Beast.
“I’ll make that my dinner tonight.”
Thinking such things, I imitate a bow and take out the arrow I just made.
Then, with a practiced hand—though I’m using a whip—I nock the arrow.
“If you think I’ve just been eating and sleeping, you’re dead wrong.”
While eating the Trent, I also did some training as a way to digest.
And what I gained were these Skills.
Skills
Compact Thrust Shoot Snipe
Dissolving Liquid (NEW)
A compact version of Thrust, a Weapon Skill for bows, and a Skill that helps with long-range attacks.
There’s one Skill I don’t recognize mixed in… oh well.
Let’s take it down right away.
“Shoot!”
The drawn arrow flies with tremendous force.
Ignoring air resistance with the bow’s ability, it pierces the bird as if being sucked in.
“Whoa, seriously?”
I’m surprised that it hit in one shot, even though I was the one who did it.
Even with the assistance of Snipe, I’m lucky today.
“Oh, there it is.”
When I go to where the bird fell, there’s a large bird bleeding from its body.
However, the arrow that should have been stuck in it is gone. Instead, a gooey, light blue liquid is dripping.
Imitation weapons melt when they receive an impact beyond their limit.
It’s one thing if it just pierced, but it couldn’t withstand the fall from a high place.
“It seems like Earth Affinity doesn’t work on it. It’s a bird, so that’s to be expected.”
I poke it with the imitation spear to confirm.
“Well, anyway, dinner is secured.”
After devouring the bird, I continue heading south.
