For now, I’ll make a timeline later, figuring out which cities thrived in which era, and where. And then, I’ll try to figure out the influence of someone—let’s call him X-kun—X-kun, and where his influence lies in each era.
X-kun’s influence doesn’t seem to be there from the very beginning, as far as I know, but I don’t know from what point he was there. Maybe he’s been there all along, but only started actively interfering at that time, or maybe I just haven’t been able to find the traces.
But I’ll think about that later.
Today, I’m going to sleep in! Because I’ve been taking in a lot of Black Spirits, and ones that are close to human thinking at that, I’ve been thinking about all sorts of messed up things at night, and haven’t been able to sleep well for a while.
If I dwell on things at night, it won’t lead to good results. In any case, if my thoughts get too muddled, it’s better to think about them in the morning sun. It’s better, but I end up thinking about them before I fall asleep.
It’s better to think about fun things before falling asleep, and if I’m going to think about dark things, it’s healthier to think about lewd things! I was thinking specifically about Rishu’s morning walk route, though.
So, I’ll take a bath and then good night.
The next day, I took a walk with Rishu at sunrise. I slept great!
I thought I heard the sound of the tide before I fell asleep, but it must have been my imagination. After all, the sea in Yumeru isn’t a cute sound like the tide, it’s more like splash, splash, thud, thud.
The mountains are in the midst of winter.
It seems that when I sent Karinto Manju-chan to the mantle, there were a lot of Spirits of heat, heat waves, and dryness, but as a reaction, they changed to Spirits of cold waves and cold winds.
The area around Karinto Manju-chan on the Talia Peninsula, the coastal area where the temperature doesn’t drop much, is still relatively warm, but around my house, a little inland, it’s suddenly winter!
It’s not like Japan where the four seasons are clear, but it’s a place where there are days when you can spend the winter in short sleeves, and days when it’s suddenly cold in the summer.
The sky can be seen from the treetops where the trees have quickly shed their leaves. It’s the sky that was covered by the lush leaves a little while ago. The sunlight falling on the ground is gentle and warm.
When Rishu and I walk, the smell of fallen leaves rises. It rains a lot in this area in winter, but for the past few days, there hasn’t been any moisture in the air that would cause frost, and the leaves that have fallen are dry and rustling.
The air still seems to be dry. I hope we can get out of the drought soon.
Rishu seems to find the sensation of stepping on fallen leaves interesting, and he deliberately kicks up the fallen leaves as he walks. He walks a short distance, stops, sniffs the ground, sometimes turns to look at me, and then moves on again.
A small Spirit, who was sleeping comfortably in a bed of dry leaves, was startled and ran away, rustling and hiding again among the leaves. It yawned a big yawn, closed its eyes contentedly, and immediately fell asleep.
The Spirits are quiet on cold mornings.
After a long walk, we stopped by the field and orchard on the way home. Perhaps because Pal and Kadal visit often, it’s full of energetic Spirits. Please don’t turn the vegetables and fruits into the Golden Series, okay?
Sometimes the Golden Series gets mixed in if I’m not careful, but thanks to the Spirits doing their best, our vegetables are delicious.
I harvested the turnips and Chinese cabbage that are nearing the end of their season. I’ll make a cream cheese stew.
I took them home and made a stew with potatoes and carrots. Should I use bacon or sausage? No, I’ll put both in. I’ll add white wine and then simmer it mostly with the moisture from the Chinese cabbage. I won’t add flour, but milk, cream cheese, butter, salt, and pepper. If I add a little sugar, does it raise the temperature at which the milk forms a film and make it less likely to clump?
The Chinese cabbage is soft, the turnips are tender, and I get a craving for it from time to time. Today’s breakfast is stew, bread, and a mushroom omelet.
What should I do today?
I also need to prepare gifts for when I visit Chris’s house. Basically, food and—how about some tableware? The pure white porcelain from the Pasture, which I originally taught them how to make, so if I ask now, they’ll be flexible.
Even though they haven’t asked me yet because they’re busy, I’m sure Haulon will grill me about the magic circle I drew in the Land of Ruin during the trip. Not just the kanji I used, but I’m sure it’ll turn into a Japanese language lesson.
And then, for some reason, Retze will find out about various things and give me a cheek pinch penalty. This time it was a coincidence, but I did save some sailors in the area, so I hope I’ll be forgiven.
