Reincarnated as My Game Character – Chapter 11

Chapter 11: So Slow I Could Yawn

“Eh? Ms. Cécile? You want to kill me? That’s not funny, even for a joke.”

That’s precisely why I retorted to Ms. Cécile, my tone dripping with utter contempt.

Back when I realized I had reincarnated as my game character, I made a firm resolution.

Anyone who dares stand in my way, no matter who they are, will be made to regret it.

I thought the memorable first candidate would be my younger brother, but it seems I was mistaken.

After being ridiculed this much, I can’t just brush it off with a simple ‘Is that so?’ and pretend it never happened. When someone wrongs me, I have to pay them back twofold.

That arrogant mindset of the strong, thinking ‘those beneath me wouldn’t dare defy me,’ that pointlessly inflated pride, that rigid conviction of being absolutely right—let’s utterly crush all of it, shall we?

Ah, I simply can’t wait to see the expression on the face of this bundle of pride, Ms. Cécile, standing right before me.

“Huh? Did you just mock me? A mere Human? Mocking me, an Elf? Unforgivable. I will absolutely never forgive you. Even if you plead for forgiveness, there’s no way I would grant it. I will make you regret mocking me, an Elf, to the very depths of your soul, and furthermore, after turning you into my slave, I shall cast you aside.”

And just as I predicted, Ms. Cécile started fuming, her pale skin flushing crimson with rage.

How should I put this… when she reacts exactly according to my predictions, doesn’t it just make her seem like an idiot? That’s what I can’t help but think.

Indeed, the normally composed Ms. Cécile would likely have easily seen through any scheme I might be plotting. However, possessing power seems to dull such lines of thought.

Just being slightly mocked by someone she looks down upon causes her to lose sight of everything else, her mind consumed solely by rage. Seeing Ms. Cécile before me now, it’s no wonder I think of her that way.

And, completely oblivious to the fact that I’m now looking down on her from the very bottom of my heart, I can sense her constructing Magic without an incantation.

Judging by the feel of that mana, I can infer it’s likely some form of Binding Magic. But more importantly, even for chantless casting, it’s so slow I feel like I could yawn.

I could just invoke a Counterspell right now to interfere with or forcibly cancel the Magic Ms. Cécile is attempting to cast. However, seeing how slow she is, reflecting it back seems like a viable option too.

In the game’s PvP, confirming an opponent’s spell before invoking reflection-type Magic was an extremely difficult feat. Yet, the fact that I have enough time to leisurely ponder which spell I should use just goes to show how incredibly long Ms. Cécile’s casting time truly is.

The only one oblivious to this fact is Ms. Cécile herself.
