Reincarnated as My Game Character – Chapter 20

Chapter 20: Oh My, Oh My

However, this room of mine is not only soundproof, but I’ve also erected a barrier to prevent others from entering. So, the question is how she managed to get in, especially without being noticed by the other residents of this house.

If I don’t figure that out, no matter how many times I kick her out, Cécile will likely just come back again.

She’s just like a certain black, shiny ‘G’ that moves at high speed. Just exterminating them is pointless; unless you eliminate the source, it’s the same as not having solved the problem at all.

“Hey!! You’re thinking something incredibly rude right now, aren’t you!? It’s written all over your face!!”
“Shut up. I don’t have time to deal with you. In the first place, why are you acting on your own without my permission? And barging into my room, no less. Anyway, how the hell did you get into this room? It shouldn’t have been a barrier that the likes of you could penetrate.”
“Oh my, Master doesn’t understand something as simple as that?”

And so, having judged her to be on par with that certain ‘G’, I decided I needed to exterminate the source. For now, I’ll try asking Cécile how she got into my room.

At times like this, people who can’t lower their heads to ask their opponent for information are, after all, nothing more than third-rate individuals.

In important situations, the ability to properly lower your head, even to an opponent who infuriates you, is the secret to navigating a long life smoothly. Furthermore, the knowledge gained by doing so now will undoubtedly prove valuable and help me in various situations in the future.

I’m not the type to lose my temper over a simple provocation from Cécile.

“Ah, unfortunately, it seems so. As expected of Cécile, I suppose. Unlike me, who hasn’t even been in this world for twenty years, I’m truly no match for the Yokai Shit-hag who has lived for many long centuries— I mean, Cécile, the living Great Sage. Would you please enlighten someone as slow-witted as myself?”

Ah, that was close. My inner thoughts almost slipped out there, but somehow I managed to lower my head to Cécile and ask respectfully.

“Oh my, my, my! Well, well, well! Master doesn’t understand something so simple? Really, you’re quite hopeless, aren’t you? So, do you want to know how I managed to get into Master’s room?”
“Yes, I do. Please, won’t you tell me?”

This woman is taking every chance to flex on me, which is infuriating, but if I lose my cool now, it’ll all be for nothing, so I grit my teeth and bear it.
