Chapter 17. Servia is Dying for Cain to Kiss Her
[Older Sister Eris’s Perspective]
“Today was fun too, wasn’t it! It’s all thanks to Cain that we can have days like this! As his older sister, I’m a little, or rather, quite jealous, but I’m so grateful to you, Servia-san! Because Cain changed thanks to you coming back to us!”
“Eh? No, I haven’t particularly done anything… Has Brother Cain really changed that much!?”
In the carriage on our way back from town, I took Servia-san’s hand and expressed my gratitude.
Servia-san blinked, looking bewildered.
“That’s right! Cain’s like a different person, he’s throwing himself into swordsmanship and defeating incredible Magical Beasts, he’s succeeded in the medicine-selling business, and his reputation in the domain is skyrocketing! The power of love truly is great, isn’t it!”
Cain has also slimmed down and become more handsome.
And he’s become kinder to the mansion’s servants; now, there’s even a fan club for him among the maids.
Kuuuhhh! Honestly, if we weren’t blood-related siblings, I’d want to marry Cain myself.
“I’ve been so happy that I’ve even held a ‘brag about my little brother’ contest with our purveying merchants! …By the way, have you two kissed yet? You have, haven’t you? How was iiiiiit!?”
I leaned in close to Servia-san.
To help their relationship along, this is something I absolutely have to ask.
“No, th-that is… Brother Cain doesn’t try to touch me himself, so nothing like that has happened at all.”
Servia-san looked quite dejected.
“The only time was when he gave me a Princess Carry during an emergency. Other than that, uuuuh…”
Ah, oops.
I might have asked something I shouldn’t have…
I immediately tried to smooth things over.
“Eh? But Cain is working hard every day to get Prince Leon to approve of his relationship with you, Servia-san, right?”
“That is true, but… Brother Cain says he hasn’t yet become a man worthy of me. And until then, he says he will never do anything like touch me. Even though that’s absolutely not the case…”
“O-Ohh…”
Not engaging in pre-marital relations because he cherishes Servia-san is a good thing, I think, but…
If he doesn’t even kiss her, won’t that make Servia-san anxious?
“…The other day, I had the Apothecary Riru make me a [Clothing-Dissolving Potion], and then I asked Brother Cain to tie me up and pour it on me. Was that… not a good idea?”
“Ugh, that’s… a bit too forward, don’t you think?”
Cain is surprisingly innocent, isn’t he?
Conversely, I feel like Servia-san can sometimes lose sight of her surroundings when she’s focused on her goal.
“Th-That’s clearly a request several steps above a kiss, right?”
“I thought it would be perfect for some ‘abuse play.’ I wanted to close the distance between us with that, but I-I failed…”
Servia-san looked gloomy and dejected.
Whoa. This is bad! If my unnecessary comment hinders their romance, it’ll be a disaster.
“I-It’s fine, something like that! Cain’s love for you is real! I mean, he does his early morning marathon and 3000 sword practice swings every single day without fail. That would be absolutely impossible without love!”
“Thank you. Y-You’re right…”
“So, there’s no need to feel strangely anxious or to rush things! Because you two are…!”
I was about to say ‘mutually in love,’ but I swallowed my words.
“Yes. I think I am feeling anxious. About what would happen if Prince Leon found out about our relationship…”
Servia-san clutched her skirt tightly.
It was understandable why Servia-san was so desperate to close the distance with Cain.
At any moment, the two of them could be torn apart again. It would be stranger not to feel anxious, wouldn’t it?
“That… Yes, it’ll be fine. As long as we keep sending false reports to Prince Leon, he won’t find out!”
So far, there’s no sign that Prince Leon is suspicious.
It seems like Cain’s previous efforts to thoroughly suck up to Prince Leon are paying off.
The old Cain used to grovel like some kind of third-rate, petty villain. If that too was part of his calculations to protect Servia-san, then he’s amazing.
“Yes. Thank you for everything!”
“And we bought a lovely dress in town! Let’s try it on as soon as we get back. I bet Cain will get a nosebleed from how cute you look, Servia-san!”
“Kusu… I hope so.”
Servia-san said with a smile.
Honestly, Cain, Servia-san wants it so much, you could at least give her a kiss.
Alright, it looks like I, as his older sister, will have to step in and lend a hand.
