Chapter 4: To a New Town – Part 03
Having successfully secured a room at the inn recommended by Gashi, I made my way to the Adventurers’ Guild in Euron.
The Adventurers’ Guild in Euron was a large four-story building situated near the castle gate on the main street, clearly indicating that the guild was well-favored in this town.
As I entered through the wide, open entrance, the lobby resembled a scaled-up version of the guild in Tolson.
To my right was the counter, and to my left was a bulletin board, while about ten adventurer parties loitered in the lobby. Each party had its own distinct appearance, but among them were some that clearly looked seasoned.
Since there was a C-Rank dungeon nearby, it was likely that there were C-Rank parties here as well. I also heard that the party known as “Fortuner,” which had been present during the great subjugation, was affiliated with this guild.
They paid me no mind as they chatted among themselves, which I found far more preferable than being approached awkwardly.
I headed towards the nearest available counter.
“Excuse me, I would like to sell some materials. Also, I would like permission to view the guides.”
I called out to the young receptionist, who had been looking away even as I approached.
She glanced at me from the corner of her eye and murmured, “You have a new face.”
“Yes, this is my first time here. I am Soushi, an E-Rank adventurer.”
“Ah, Soushi of E-Rank. And what materials do you wish to sell?”
“Here they are.”
As I presented the Moon Wolf pelt, the receptionist’s previously drowsy expression shifted slightly.
“This is… Moon Wolf fur? Where did you obtain this?”
“I happened to hunt it between Tolson and Euron.”
“Do you have any Magic Stones?”
“Actually, instead of a Magic Stone, I received a Skill Orb, but I used it myself.”
“Do you have the shell of the Orb?”
“Yes, here it is.”
In truth, even after using the Skill Orb, the iridescent glow had faded, but the crystal-like orb remained intact.
The receptionist took it in her hand and said, “Indeed,” placing it on the counter.
“I will buy the fur and this Orb shell. Is that acceptable?”
“Yes, please.”
The total came to 800,000 Rom, which I couldn’t quite gauge as I was unfamiliar with the market, but it was certainly not a small sum. Perhaps it was due to the rarity of the monster’s fur. In any case, it was a fortunate windfall.
“The guides are on the second floor, so feel free to browse. Also, please note that using multiple Skill Orbs from the same monster is pointless, so you should sell them as is. The ‘Honshin’ skill from the Moon Wolf is a rare skill, so it should fetch at least 10,000,000 Rom.”
The receptionist looked at me with a scrutinizing gaze. From the front, she was quite a beautiful woman with short blue hair.
“Ah, understood. Thank you very much.”
I replied and headed up to the second floor to check out the guides. It goes without saying that I was astonished by the prospect of a million Rom.
That night, after having dinner at the inn, I lay down on the bed in my room.
At 13,000 Rom per night, this inn was more luxurious compared to those in Tolson. The room was somewhat spacious, and the bed was a bit softer.
Now, I needed to consider how to establish my daily routine in this town.
Ideally, I wanted to maintain my routine of early morning training, dungeon exploration, and additional training in the remaining time.
The problem was finding a suitable place to train. This town was larger than Tolson, and the castle gate was closed in the early morning, making it difficult to step outside for training.
However, if I were to swing a Dark Metal Rod around in the streets, I would undoubtedly be seen as suspicious, leading to troublesome consequences.
According to the guide, there was a training area attached to the Adventurers’ Guild here, but it was uncertain whether it would be appropriate for a newcomer like me, an E-Rank adventurer, to use it.
Well, I could at least check it out tomorrow. It would be great if I could use it early in the morning.
As for the dungeons, it seemed there was one F-Class, two E-Class, two D-Class, and one C-Class dungeon near the town.
Tomorrow, I wanted to head to the F-Class dungeon and acquire a skill. After that, I would move on to tackling the E-Class dungeon.
I also needed to test the newly acquired ‘Honshin’ skill. I hadn’t expected it to be valued at a million Rom, but it was likely as powerful as I had anticipated.
As I pondered these thoughts, I drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, I headed straight to the Adventurers’ Guild.
Upon entering the lobby, I found no one else there yet. The only person at the counter was the same aloof yet beautiful receptionist from yesterday.
“Excuse me, can I use the training area here?”
When I asked, she glanced at me sideways and replied, “Yes, you can use it freely.”
“Is there any procedure I need to follow?”
“No, basically, you can use it whenever you like.”
“Would that include before sunrise as well?”
Her surprise at my question was evident, and she turned to face me.
“What will you be using it for?”
“Of course, for training. I usually start before dawn.”
The receptionist looked at me skeptically but sighed and stepped out from behind the counter.
“I’ll show you.”
Following her, I was led to the back of the guild building. It was a small ground area, with a prefabricated structure that seemed to serve as a dismantling site at one end.
“This area is sometimes used for transporting materials from large monsters, but it is generally open for use. When the guild is closed, you can enter and exit from that gate over there.”
She pointed to a simple gate that seemed to connect to another street. This was indeed convenient. With this, the training area issue was resolved for now.
“Thank you. I’ll make good use of it.”
As I bowed in gratitude, the receptionist simply said, “Go ahead,” and returned to the building. She might be aloof, but it seemed she was diligent in her work.
I promptly began my usual training. Utilizing the Dark Metal Rod, I focused on enhancing my physical abilities and skills through repetitive exercises.
I also tested the ‘Honshin’ skill, and as expected, it was an incredible skill that defied physical laws and nullified inertia.
When I tried lateral jumps, the smoothness of my weight transfer was at a level that felt distinctly unusual. However, the effect was still weak, and it seemed I needed to level up to fully replicate the movements of the Moon Wolf.
What surprised me even more was that this skill also applied to weapon swings.
When I swung the mace, the weight felt significantly reduced when transitioning to a follow-up strike. As my level increased, I might even be able to unleash a barrage of strikes like a character from a manga.
After trying out various movements and getting my body accustomed to what could be used in actual combat, I decided to head to the dungeon.
