Weak Skill Duplicator – Chapter 11

I certainly don’t have the thick skin to participate after being glared at like that. It’s irritating to follow his orders, but it’s also true that I lack the skill. I guess I’ll just quietly back down here…

The total number of adventurers mobilized to repel the Demon Lord’s Army was 500. Everyone thought it was a battle with a predictable outcome even before it began.

“Alright! First, those who can use magic and those who can use projectiles will launch a surprise attack from a distance. Then, the melee squad will attack when they’re staggered. Got it!”

With such a sloppy plan that could hardly be called a strategy, the adventurers went on the offensive. Adventurers aren’t very accustomed to war-like, large-scale battles. If individual adventurers of similar skill level were to fight against a knight order, the knights would undoubtedly win. For a group of three-digit numbers to coordinate, the magic and throwing squads would have to be careful not to hit their allies. Moreover, if the knight order had a numerical advantage, they would definitely form groups within the melee squad and fight the monsters together. But these adventurers didn’t do any of that…

“Hey! What the hell! The magic hit me, and I can’t move my body… S-stop, don’t come closer! Get away! …Ugh… Uwaaaaaaaaah!”

“Hey, there’s a casualty! What’s going on? Isn’t this supposed to be a safe battle?”

“No, r-run away!”

A Greatsword User, hit by a paralysis attack from the ranged squad, was mercilessly attacked by an E-Rank Monster while defenseless…

With one casualty, there was no semblance of order. Panic ensued. Someone had died… the next one could be me. Thinking that, they couldn’t move as they normally would. Some even started to retreat on their own after a few casualties. Seeing the melee squad collapse, the ranged squad was also shaken, and they lost control of their magic.

They had underestimated it.

The power of numbers…
