Episode 28: I Tried Witnessing Liese and the Prince.

I’ve spent most of my school life diligently studying Territory Management and national politics, and I’ve managed to catch up on a considerable amount of knowledge befitting a noble.
In my spare time, I spend my days scouring the Library for related books.
For me, who has neither knowledge of this world nor experience in managing a territory, there are countless things to learn. Since etiquette, Sword training, and the like are also duties of a Lord, things like Equestrian Training are quite enjoyable as a change of pace.
“Faina, how am I doing?”
“Yes. You’ve improved quite a bit.”
Even when doing Equestrian Training with Faina riding with me, I’ve gotten used to riding a horse to the point where my core doesn’t waver.
However, amidst such daily life, I had one concern.
It was… Liese.
Lately, she’s been somewhat strange. Or rather, her actions seem deliberate, or intentional… No, I don’t understand.

One day, when I passed Liese in the hallway, she suddenly cried out, “Kya!” and looked like she was about to fall.

Even if I muttered that in my heart, there was no way I could understand what she was thinking. Still, I pondered why she would act like that.
Then one day, I saw it.
“Lord Edward, good morning. Might I have a moment of your time?”
“Liese? It’s rare for you to greet me. Good morning. Of course. What is it?”
The sight of Liese greeting Prince Edward and approaching him.
“Well… there’s something I wanted to ask you about yesterday’s class.”
She leaned in close, looking up at Prince Edward with upturned eyes. Her expression was bewitching, with a cuteness that would make any man fall for her.
“Um, uh… About the class? That’s unusual for a Prodigy like you. Ah, well, nobles are indeed better versed in the Kingdom’s History.”
Liese moved closer to Prince Edward and brushed her hair back. Instantly, Lord Edward’s face turned bright red.
Seeing their intimate display, my chest tightened.

Her actions towards me were practice runs for Prince Edward.
Understanding that I, her master, wouldn’t make a move on her, she must be testing things out.

Seeing her flushed red face, I sighed.
(Damn it, she really is cute…)
That night, I was lost in thought alone in my room.
She’s probably trying various things on me to ensure things go well with the Prince, but the one thing I’m sure of is that lately, Liese seems even cuter than before.
She’s so cute that, at this rate, no matter how many hearts I have, it won’t be enough.
I want her to quickly win over the Prince and get together with him. In the worst-case scenario, I’m even willing to have her adopted into a Dukedom or a Marquis House so I can set up her marriage with the Prince.
“Haaah, if she doesn’t settle things soon, I’m the one who won’t be able to hold back. Our main heroine is so cute, it’s truly troubling…”
Muttering that, I formulated a plan for tomorrow in my mind.
If she tries to set up another “coincidence,” how should I respond? I must maintain my composure and not get swept away by her.
…That said, my biggest worry is that I have no confidence I can maintain that composure.
