After being utterly wrecked by an Archdemon, I decided to refrain from hunting Demons.
Or rather, why should I still have to hunt Archdemons?
Even if the Archdemon messed up the graveyard, it’s the Guild’s responsibility, so it’s none of my concern. (The Guild is responsible for managing the graveyards that can be explored.)
So, I thought I’d go Goblin hunting, but I also want to use magic soon.
To explain magic in detail here, strictly speaking, magic is also a type of Skill.
The line between what is magic and what isn’t is quite ambiguous, and interpretations differ from person to person.
However, most people interpret magic as an artificial natural phenomenon used when attacking, while Skills are seen as enhancements to stats, techniques, or things that grant special effects under certain conditions.
I generally agree with this.
However, there are some types of magic that can be used even without Skills.
An example of this is the Enchant Effect.
By using magic-infused crystal stones, such as Magic Ore, you can use magic that aligns with the attribute of that stone.
That said, the magic doesn’t have names; if it’s water attribute, it just releases water, and if it’s earth attribute, it just creates earth.
It’s not useless, but it’s not very convenient.
However, the power of magic used through Enchant Effects differs from normal magic, as its power changes depending on the amount of magic power added. Therefore, if someone with a large amount of magic power uses it, it can become incredibly powerful.
I don’t have any magic-related Skills, and even if I were to acquire one, the magic from Enchant Effects is stronger than an E-rank magic Skill.
Therefore, from now on, I intend to use the enchant on the Shield I bought the other day to defeat Goblins and acquire the “Magic Beginner” and “Magic Basics” Skills.
Having decided on my future course of action, I immediately headed to the reception desk with a Goblin subjugation request…
…And so, I came to hunt Goblins, but I can’t find any at all.
After 30 minutes, I finally found one.
My luck is bad today.
I immediately channel magic power into the Shield.
Then, a beam of light emerges from the Magic Ore on the Shield.
This seems to be… Holy attribute magic.
It doesn’t have the power of the Dark Line that the Demon used.
This beam doesn’t have piercing power; it’s only good enough to push an enemy over.
But, against a Goblin, this is more than enough.
Blood came out from where the beam hit, and it fell over and died.
It requires a minimum of 50 magic power to use once, so I can only use it about 20 times a day.
If I run out of magic power, I’ll become sluggish, just like when I run out of stamina.
I’ll limit the number of Skills I can acquire per day to 20.
And then, I went back to searching for Goblins.
