Weak Skill Duplicator – Chapter 18

It’s been a month since I started using magic to deal with Goblins.
Lately, I’ve hardly seen any Goblins at all.
Just as I was about to give up and head home today, I heard a noise from deep within the forest.
Could it be Goblins?
Curious, I silenced my footsteps and approached.
The deeper I went, the more uneasy I felt.
My whole body was sending out warning signals.
But I pressed on. I just kept going.
What I saw ahead was a horde of monsters.

Why are Rank D monsters in a place like this…?
I can beat a Rank D one-on-one, but there are over 30 of them. What’s more, there are also dozens of Rank E and F monsters, making it seem impossible to win.
…Could these guys be part of the Demon Lord’s Army?!
I heard that a unit of the Demon Lord’s Army had gone missing, but since they suffered heavy losses in the last war, they must be resting deep in a forest where no one would come…
I see, so that’s why there were so few Goblins.
When higher-ranked monsters come, lower-ranked monsters instinctively submit.
It’s not absolute, and it depends on the species, but Goblins would definitely obey.
So, the Goblins were preparing a resting place and food for the Demon Lord’s Army that came here.
This is a pretty big deal…
It’s no longer a matter of whether I’m Rank G or what the Guild Master thinks.
I have to hurry back to the Guild…
Just as I was about to return silently,
a snake monster attacked me!
Damn it, I forgot that snake monsters have a unique skill called “Temper Searcher,” or something like that, which gives them an unusually high perception ability!
I managed to dodge it and slashed at it with the sword (a type of one-handed sword) I borrowed from the Guild as a counterattack.
My strength stat is exceptionally high, so I was able to take it down in one hit, but I was discovered in the process.
And now I’m surrounded.
There are about 100 of them.
Immediately, Goblins attacked with their clubs.

…But they were too slow.

I quickly picked up a small stone that was lying on the ground and threw it at a Goblin with all my might.

It pierced through the Goblin’s brow, instantly taking down two of them.
Seeing that, I took down a few of the intimidated weaker monsters with stones.
I can defeat monsters up to Rank E with this.
It’s all thanks to my Throwing Skill.

However, even if it works against Rank D monsters, it’s impossible to defeat them. And I don’t have an infinite supply of stones.

But it seems they can’t easily attack either.

I channeled magic into my shield and released a spell.
Of course, it won’t defeat them, but I can take them down with my sword where they fall.
I’m somehow managing to fight while surrounded, but my magic is running low.

Then, it suddenly occurred to me.
Why not throw the Magic Stones of the monsters I’ve defeated?!

I immediately started throwing the Magic Stones of the defeated monsters to take down the enemies I could.
When I didn’t have any Magic Stones, I released beams of light.
It’s hard to keep dodging to avoid getting hit, but they’re having trouble moving because they’re trying not to hit their own allies.
Besides, the large monsters can’t move quickly in this forest, making them easy targets.
I repeated the process of defeating, throwing, defeating, and throwing for 30 minutes.
Finally, I managed to defeat all 100 monsters.

“Haa, haa… Did I… win?”

I muttered, looking at all the monster corpses and Magic Stones.

“I won… I won!!!”

I shouted at the top of my lungs, even though I was in the middle of the forest.
That wasn’t a good idea.
I was mistaken.
I thought those monsters were all there were…
