I came to the nearby forest to try my hand at goblin extermination, but it seems I need equipment to actually defeat them.
So, I borrowed some equipment from the Adventurer’s Guild.
It costs 5 copper coins per day. Goblin extermination pays 1 silver coin. Since 10 copper coins equal 1 silver coin, 5 copper coins plus whatever I earn from additional kills will be my daily wage. 5 copper coins a day is barely enough to survive, so I have to defeat as many as possible…
After searching for goblins for 30 minutes, I still haven’t found any. They’re supposed to be everywhere, and you can expect to find 30 more if you see one. Especially in the forest, you see them all the time.
That’s why you can usually find them pretty quickly just by walking around, and since their stats are mostly below 50, they’re easy to defeat, making them popular targets for beginners.
However, my luck is bad, and I can’t find any.
As expected of a Luck Stat of 25.
But, after walking for another 5 minutes, I found a group of 3 goblins.
Since I spotted them first, I can make a preemptive attack.
They’ll retaliate if I get too close, so I threw a large rock with all my might.
It hit one of them, but it wasn’t enough to kill it. However, it seems to have hit a bad spot, as blood is coming from its head, and it can’t move.
The remaining two are coming towards me, but they’re still far away, so I threw another rock at one of them.
It hit it while it was running, and this time it seems to have been knocked unconscious.
Now, there’s only one left. It’s swinging a wooden stick at me with all its might, but it’s slow. I easily dodged it and, in retaliation, slit its throat with my iron sword.
After writhing for a while, it stopped moving, so I safely finished off the bleeding goblin and then the one that was unconscious.
“That’s 3. Only 2 more to go.”
Muttering that, I proceeded deeper into the eerie forest.
