I woke up two hours earlier than usual and hurried to the Adventurer’s Guild.
“Excuse me! I’ll take a Goblin subjugation request again today!”
“Yes, there’s no need to rush so much, the requests won’t run away.”
The lady at the counter took the request form and efficiently got to work.
After stamping it, I borrowed my equipment and headed into the forest with the request form in hand.
…Upon entering the forest, I encountered two Goblins.
I quickly defeated them and checked my status board, and as expected, the numbers for One-Handed Sword Basics and Physical Enhancement had increased.
“I’m certain now. ‘Skill Duplication’ means I can acquire the same skill multiple times, and its effects stack!”
I finally understood. My Original Skill was indeed non-combat oriented, but it was powerful enough to more than make up for it. It might even rival the skills of a Hero or Sage.
I couldn’t stop grinning. I might be able to show those who mocked me.
If I want to get stronger efficiently, I should repeat the process of:
Throwing a stone at a Goblin → Defeating it with a sword
This way, I can acquire Throwing, One-Handed Sword Basics, and Physical Enhancement all at once.
I grinned as I approached the source of the cries coming from the depths of the forest…
Today’s results: 34 Goblins.
Having understood the effect of “Skill Duplication,” I steadily increased my stats and became able to hunt faster.
“Alright, that should be enough for today. I’ll go back and submit the request completion.”
As I entered the Adventurer’s Guild with a smug look on my face, I bumped into a tall, blonde-haired person who looked like a Mid-Rank Adventurer.
“Huh!? Watch where you’re going, brat! …Hm? I’ve seen you before? …Ah! You’re the one with the G Skill Aptitude!”
What a noisy monologue. Come to think of it, there were a lot of jeering adventurers during the aptitude ceremony, so he must have been one of them.
“Hey, hey, you came to be an adventurer even though you have no skills? Go home and suck on your mama’s tits!”
He laughed boisterously, pushed me down, spat on me, and left the Guild.
Around me, some people were snickering, some were looking at me with discriminatory eyes, and some were indifferent…
Recently, the lady at the counter and Tanaka-san had been kind to me, so I had almost forgotten, but this is how people with low Skill Aptitude are usually treated.
Well, whatever. I’ll get stronger someday and show them all.
Despite my irritation, I reported the completion of the request.
“Yes. Thank you for completing the request. And with this, Cain-san, you have become Rank E. Congratulations.”
After reporting the completion of the request as usual, I received those words.
“Eh! Isn’t that too fast? I’ve only completed two Goblin subjugation requests…”
“No, you also did things like cleaning the gutters, walking dogs, and reading picture books, right?”
Come to think of it, I did a lot of things, but those also contribute to ranking up…
“Then! I will exchange your card.”
The new card was red.
