World of Sandbox – Chapter 258

Chapter 258: Future Relations

“We will now report on the mobilizable military forces.”

“Alright, please go ahead.”

Ringo was tasked with delivering the military report for Commander Eve, while also sharing information with Amagio. However, since it was merely a matter of sending data to Amagio, this meeting felt more like a casual gathering filled with light conversation.

“First, let’s discuss the reconnaissance satellites. Currently, we are experimentally operating a total of 27 satellites.”

“Satellites, huh… Is that really all there is?”

“Regarding threat creatures… I mean, monsters. Our information gathering on these threat creatures is incomplete, so we are proceeding with caution. Some species can even attack from satellite orbit…”

“…Huh?”

The conversation took an unexpected turn, but it was a good opportunity to inform Amagio about the wyverns and some plant-like entities that were firing laser cannons at them.

“Seriously, you guys are really enjoying this fantasy stuff, huh?”

“Hey, I’m not joking! We’re struggling here!”

Eve snapped back at Amagio, who was grimacing. However, considering that Amagio was also creating a nation through historical alteration, he couldn’t really criticize anyone.

“Well, I get it. I always thought those monsters were a nuisance, but I didn’t realize they were this bad. I mean, what kind of life form can attack from satellite orbit? That’s just cheating.”

“I agree with you on that…”

“That said, we are keeping the number of satellites to a minimum. We have six GPS satellites, eight resource exploration satellites, six reconnaissance satellites, two space monitoring satellites, and five gravity measurement satellites.”

While the number of satellites was small, it was a different story considering they had been launched over just a few years. Amagio, having checked the history of The Tree, wore a pitiful expression.

“How did you manage to achieve this much in such a short time…?”

“Good and bad, we had nothing around us… If we had appeared in the Demon Forest, we would probably have been done for. Well, I guess we were lucky.”

“True enough. Alright, let’s set that aside for now. Right now, we need to confirm the military strength for the invasion of the Prava Divine Nation.”

The current forces that had landed in the Prava Divine Nation were as follows:

  • Three land battleships, Jotun.
  • 1,640 multi-legged tanks operating simultaneously, with 202 serving as defensive forces around Yakari Port and its surrounding areas.
  • 56 multi-legged ground mother units, with ten stationed on each Jotun and 26 around Yakari Port.
  • Numerous multi-legged assault machines, with 800 on each Jotun, four on each multi-legged ground mother unit, and a total of 2,230 in occupied villages and towns.
  • 840 anti-personnel drones and 145 anti-ground drones.
  • 35 Communicator Androids, with 140 two-legged security machines, Primates, four each.
  • A total of 6,840 security maintenance machines, Sheriffs, in each village and town.

“Seriously, you’re throwing out numbers that sound like a joke.”

“We’re keeping it to a minimum, believe it or not. We plan to ramp up production before the invasion of the Holy Capital, so for now, this is just a start.”

Moreover, the massive transport ship, Mizugards, protected by a fleet including Naglfar Class and Fringhorni Class vessels, was diligently transporting military forces and resources back and forth to the Second Fortress, Black Iron. The military strength would continue to grow.

“For now, we’ve secured the relay city, Geni. We’ll establish a base in the suburbs. Currently, we have three land battleships gathered, which is excessive, so we’ll leave some escort forces behind and send the three to suppress the surrounding area.”

“That means they won’t have a moment’s peace over there…”

“It’s also to apply pressure and draw their forces to the Holy Capital. We’ll resume the invasion in three days.”

For the next phase, they would dispatch forces east and west from Geni, aiming to completely conquer the southern part of the Prava Divine Nation. This was expected to take about three weeks. As the occupied areas increased, their military strength would triple. To stabilize the local command structure, they planned to construct a fortress in Geni and establish a new strategic AI.

“Now, what concerns me is the Gigantia. That’s your aerial combat force, right?”

“Yes, that’s right. The aerial aircraft carrier, Gigantia Class, and the aerial escort ship, Titan Class. We currently have two units, but we plan to add two more.”

“I’m grateful that you have the sense not to bring that over to my country.”

“Of course, that much is expected. Honestly, though, I feel a bit uneasy about it. Want to see? The Titan vs. Wyvern battle. To be honest, I’m worried about our striking power against an equal number of wyverns.”

Ringo sent Amagio the recorded data from the Titan vs. Wyvern battle. After reviewing it, Amagio let out a deep sigh.

“…So, if we move too recklessly, we’ll end up attracting those monsters.”

“Exactly. We have no idea what’s buried where. It’s like trying to tap dance in a minefield.”

If they carelessly broadcast signals, wyverns would come flocking, and even though they were at a distance, there was also that terrifying creature known as The Reflector lurking nearby. Moreover, the Mountain Boar they had encountered in the Forest Country had enough defensive power to withstand railgun fire, and similar entities had been confirmed to be active in multiple locations.

“Therefore, if we’re heading north, we need to build up our military strength sufficiently. We also want to deploy aerial forces, so we need to prepare the runway.”

“I can see why the Kingdom of Reputari’s response has been so lackluster. If they’re dealing with this, they can handle human nations however they like.”

Amagio seemed to be recalling their past trade negotiations, grumbling about it.

“It’s not that we were being careless. As you can see, we can never have enough resources. If they send transport ships back loaded with resources, we’d welcome that.”

“Our perspectives are just too different. Well, I assume you have a good idea of where the mineral veins are, right? I suspect the Afrasia United Kingdom has a fair amount of buried resources as well, but are you planning to invest in that?”

“When we find new mineral veins, the gamer in me says we should secure them first. Plus, it’s necessary to diversify our production bases.”

“Well, I agree with that.”

Declaring that he would follow their policy on that matter, Amagio changed the subject.

“Now, I want to ask this early on. How do you plan to interact with the Kingdom of Reputari moving forward? I could cooperate now. We could make them a vassal state if you wanted.”

While Amagio suggested this, The Tree had no interest in making them a vassal state.

“Honestly, incorporating a human nation as a unit would be inefficient.”

That was the truth. It was possible to educate the citizens and enable them to produce resources. However, ultimately, they could not surpass the efficiency of the machine forces controlled by AI.

“Well, I suppose that’s true. Yeah, I guess it is.”

Amagio could only smile wryly at the Commander of The Tree’s candid thoughts.

“That said, I can’t just abandon them. Since you, Amagio, have established this nation, I think it’s worth giving it some support. Besides, the potential threat seems to have diminished.”

Amagio Salmon, the player, had been incorporated into The Tree’s forces. The nation he ruled held immense power, and since Amagio was immortal, he would essentially remain the top leader unless a coup d’état occurred.

If that was the case, the Kingdom of Reputari could be deemed a friendly nation for the time being.

“There’s no benefit in occupying them. At least, not at this moment. Well, we could provide technology transfer. I believe some guidance is already being offered, but I wouldn’t mind increasing those privileges for our own people.”

“Ah, well, let’s put that on hold for now. I have my own entanglements, and there’s no immediate need to rush into anything. For now, let’s focus on expanding trade volume.”

“Okay. By the way, what about Redstone? Are you planning to increase the amount?”

“About that… I suppose we could increase it, but… how exactly are you mining it?”

“Oh, that. I don’t fully understand the principle yet, but it seems that it calms down when exposed to water…”

Amagio had yet to experience the overwhelming violence of absurdity. The Reflector and the monstrous showdown seemed quite exciting.
