Wounded Paladin – Chapter 228

Chapter 36: They (Part 4)

Omi was a woman who loved mischief and occasionally acted a bit clumsy, but she possessed not only kindness and compassion but also undeniable strength, thoughtfulness, and foresight. However, she had a slight concern regarding Ichiro’s current situation.

“Well, it’s not something to worry too much about, but there was a discrepancy in time between our dive into the Sealed Labyrinth and the outside world. About three days there equated to a week here.”

Anon had quickly shared this information with Sensei, while the others rapidly calculated in their minds, “So, more than double the time has passed?”

“If the space where our son-in-law was dragged into has a different flow of time compared to the outside world, it could lead to some troublesome situations.”

Sensei referred to it as a “troublesome situation,” but if the flow of time outside was three or four times faster, then while they were dawdling, Ichiro might be forced to endure a long, lonely battle.

“Omi-sama!! Then this is no time to be doing this—!!”

The four present, excluding Omi, immediately grasped the potential severity of the situation. Among them, the eldest, Pulmy, was the first to raise her voice. However, Omi gently responded to calm them down.

“Pulmy, please calm down. As I mentioned earlier, this is a highly unlikely scenario. There’s no need to worry so much. Even if there is a difference in the flow of time, it would likely be similar to the Sealed Labyrinth, where one day here equals about two days there. For us, heading to Sena to rescue our son-in-law, it shouldn’t result in a significant loss.”

Omi stated this firmly, but midway through, she seemed to lose a bit of her confidence. She crossed her arms and looked up with her sharp, elongated eyes, pondering for a brief two or three seconds.

“That said, it is about our son-in-law…”

Ultimately, she concluded, “It would be best to hurry and head out for the rescue.”

With those words as a catalyst, Anon and the others sprang into action, quickly finishing the preparations for Crane’s Guidance and successfully regrouping with the three on the Virtuous side.

Omi had lived a long life, well-versed in many things and having accumulated various experiences, yet there was something she could not foresee. It was, of course, Ichiro’s Limit Low Luck. She never imagined he would exhibit misfortune far below her expectations. However, if one were to follow her reasoning, there was a reason behind it.

As a result of his excessive Limit Low Luck, Ichiro had encountered numerous dangerous situations, found himself in peril, played around in crises, and danced through calamities, to the point where his catchphrase became, “This is bad! This is bad!” Yet recently, his misfortune had somewhat quieted down.

This was because Ichiro had been living with two beings resembling goddesses. Sena and Sensei had been shielding him from the disasters that befell him. Just having them by his side could be likened to an automatic buff, significantly boosting his luck. Of course, it was unconscious on their part.

However, at this moment, he had once again found himself alone. Perhaps it was only natural that he was now facing an extraordinary disaster.

It was the very content that Sensei had mentioned as a potential concern—something far worse than that.
